MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC Launched, New Vivo Flagship Teased to Get This Chipset: Details

On Tuesday, MediaTek released the Diminutive 9200 SoC. The newest flagship 5G chipset from MediaTek, it operates with both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G networks. To the best of the company’s knowledge, this is the first smartphone chipset to have an Arm Cortex X3 central processing unit (CPU). There’s a ray tracing-capable GPU, the Immortalis-G715 core, built in into this chipset. The HyperEngine 6.0 Gaming Technology is included in, making for a fluid and realistic gaming experience. While everything is going on, Vivo has announced that it will be releasing a flagship smartphone with the new SoC very soon.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC availability

The company said the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC-powered smartphones would hit the market before the year’s end. Vivo has already hinted that it will release a smartphone with this top-tier processor. Recent speculation points to the Vivo X90 line.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC specifications

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 System-on-Chip (SoC) includes a 3.05GHz Arm Cortex-X3 core, 3.05GHz Arm Cortex-A715 cores, and 1.8GHz Arm Cortex-A510 cores. The 2nd-generation TSMC 4nm technology is used to fabricate these CPU cores. Their thermal package design is optimised to reduce heat production, making them ideal for use in portable electronic devices like smartphones. This high-end chipset works with UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5x memory.

The Immortalis-G715 GPU in this MediaTek flagship chipset includes a ray tracing engine that operates in hardware. For a fluid and immersive gaming experience, HyperEngine 6.0 Gaming Technology is included. Its Imagiq 890 ISP allows for high-quality shots to be taken in both dim and bright conditions.

It also has built-in assistance for RGBW sensors, which can significantly reduce power consumption. When combined with the Video Stream Engine, this technology supposedly allows users to record high-quality, cinematic videos. The 6th-generation AI processing unit is included in the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. (APU). In addition, it is possible to do AI-noise reduction (AI-NR) and AI-super resolution (AI-SR) operations in an energy-efficient manner because to its eXtreme Power Saving Technology.

It can manage full-HD+ displays at 240Hz, WHQD screens at 144Hz, and 5K (2.5Kx2) displays at 60Hz. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC is the first Wi-Fi 7-ready smartphone platform, according to MediaTek, and can handle data rates of up to 6.5Gbps. Moreover, it supports simultaneous connections of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth low energy (LE) wireless peripherals thanks to its coexistence technology.
